Summer School begins Tuesday May 30th and goes through Friday June 23rd.

South Parents, The buses at South Elementary arrived late because of the road work on 65 highway. Buses left South at 1:20 and will be running several minutes later than anticipated.

South Elementary recently celebrated our 5th grade graduates and we are excited to see what their bright futures may hold. Congrats to the Warsaw class of 2030!





Congratulations to the top readers in each 2nd - 5th grade class at South Elementary. The following students had the highest word counts in their respective classes through the Reading Counts program. Students received a reading champion t-shirt and coupon certificate. Students work hard all month to achieve this goal.

Due to the rain and storms arriving this morning on the radar we will be canceling field day today at South.
Our rain out date is scheduled for tomorrow, however temperatures are forecasted in the high 50's with more chances for rain.
Therefore, we will plan to have a modified field day Wednesday morning.

Remember that Warsaw R-IX School District is in session on Monday, May 15th through Wednesday, May 17th. Last Day of School is Wednesday, May 17th. On May 17th, HS/JBMS will dismiss at 12:50pm and North/South will dismiss at 12:55pm.


On Thursday, May 11th Miss Schockmann, Mrs Applegate, and the Warsaw Children’s Chorus visited the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, MO. They learned a lot about the history of Jazz in America and Kansas City. We started by singing on the stage in The Blue Room, A tour and scavenger hunt for information in small groups opened their eyes and ears to the world of Jazz. The visit ended with a live performance by a professional jazz band back in the Blue Room!






Yesterday third graders from South got to visit the State Capitol and toured the Governors Mansion!

The South Elementary 4th Graders had a fantastic field trip to Creative Palette in downtown Warsaw!

Kindergarten students at South Elementary got to celebrate on one of their last few fun Fridays with bubbles! Boy did they enjoy it!




The Warsaw South Elementary Art students participated in the Benton County Farmer’s Bureau “Thank a Farmer” Poster and Coloring Contest this Spring. The following Warsaw South Elementary students received 1st Place certificates and medals in their grade:
Kindergarten - Piper Chamberlain (Not pictured), 1st Grade - Jaylyn Ward, 2nd Grade - JuliAnn Lomax, 3rd Grade - Mikiah Newell (Not pictured) 4th Grade - Jessica Domer, 5th Grade - Pailin Beck.
Congratulations to our young Wildcat artists!


Mrs. Hargrave’s class at South Elementary enjoyed measuring sandcastles throughout the classroom. Students worked with partners to practice measuring in inches.





Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Bell’s PreK classes enjoyed a morning at Drake Harbor yesterday, eating lunch outside and finishing the day off with popsicles!





Our water tests at South School have come back clean, so we are allowed to lift our boil advisory at South School. Thank you to our maintenance staff and Eddie Barnes' crew for the quick work!
