The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, for its regular monthly meeting.
The meeting began with student, staff, and community recognitions. The recipients included Kenny Powell from North Elementary –Student Spotlight; Drake Yaeger – Classified Staff Member of the Month; Julie Gemes – Certified Staff Member of the Month; and the Benton County Food Pantry – Wildcat Pride Award recipient.
Program Spotlight
A Professional Development (PD) Review was presented to the Board. The presentation highlighted district-wide professional learning efforts and ongoing initiatives.
Budget & Financial Updates
Superintendent Scott Gemes reviewed the November budget report and year-to-date financials with the Board.

Other New Business & Board Approvals
The Annual Performance Report (APR) review was presented for 2025. The presentation highlighted our 73.7% total composite score, which ranks among the top districts in our peer group.
The Board approved revisions to the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). The Board also approved the audit report for the 2024–2025 school year. An updated Sick Leave Policy was approved and will go into effect for the 2026–2027 school year. Additionally, the Board approved a list of surplus items from the Technology Department.
Personnel Updates
During closed session, the Board accepted two retirements, accepted one resignation, and approved five new hires. The Board also received staff updates, completed a board self-evaluation, and was provided the Superintendent Evaluation to be completed by January 2026.
