chiles

The Warsaw R-IX School District is proud to welcome Rich Chiles as the newest member of the Board of Education. Chiles officially took the oath of office and was sworn in on July 9th, 2025. He brings with him a wealth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to the students and families of the Warsaw community.

Chiles dedicated 32 years to public service as a federal employee with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His career began in 1990 as a summer park ranger right here at Truman Lake, and through the years, he rose through the ranks to become the Operations Project Manager for the Harry S. Truman Lake & Reservoir. In that role, he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations and maintenance for the lake project, including flood control, hydropower, water supply, environmental stewardship, and outdoor recreation.

Throughout his career, Chiles built a reputation for fostering teamwork, defining clear roles, and providing the resources needed for teams to succeed. His ability to build strong partnerships with elected officials, community leaders, and stakeholders will serve him well as he begins this new chapter of service to the Warsaw R-IX School District.

Rich and his family have deep roots in the community. His children are proud graduates of Warsaw schools, and his wife, Chanda, serves as a Parents as Teachers educator within the district.

Please join us in welcoming Rich Chiles to the Warsaw R-IX Board of Education. We are excited to have his leadership, experience, and passion for the community guiding the future of our schools!
