The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Regular Board Meeting
The meeting began with student, staff, and community recognitions. The recipients included Dylan Parker, North Elementary – Student Spotlight; Erika Whitaker and Liz Marks – Staff Members of the Month; and Haileigh Cunningham of Generations Hair Studio – Wildcat Pride Award recipient.
Presentation
Assistant Superintendent, Mrs. Deckard presented the district’s 2026–2027 District Testing Plan, providing the Board with an overview of the district’s assessment plan for the school year.
Budget & Financial Updates
The Board reviewed the August 2026 Budget Review and the most current PROP KIDS Budget.
As a reminder, the district’s remaining PROP KIDS bond funds must be spent by June 2027.

Other New Business & Board Approvals
The Board approved the following items:
Memorandum of Understanding with Benton County, Henry County, and the City of Warsaw regarding the creation of the Warsaw School Police Force. Additional approvals and steps will be required before the district can officially establish its own police force.
Purchase of JBMS library furniture.
Concession Stand and Restroom Project at the football field/track. MJ Construction was approved as the general contractor based on the low bid.
Concession stand/restroom portion: $1,392,286
Additional items, including the sidewalk around the track, additional retaining walls, and basement restroom/visitor locker room space: $436,418
Total approved bid: $1,828,704
The district will work with MJ Construction to identify potential cost savings and lower the overall project cost where possible.

Personnel Updates
During closed session, the Board accepted two resignations and approved eleven new personnel assignments for the 2026–2027 school year.
