The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met June 24, 2026, for its regular monthly meeting.
Budget & Financial Updates
Superintendent Scott Gemes reviewed the May budget report and year-to-date financials. He also presented the projected ending balance for the 2025–2026 fiscal year and reviewed the proposed 2026–2027 district budget.
The Board approved the annual transfer of $636,708 from Fund 1 to Fund 4 to support the purchase of buses, maintenance projects, and other capital improvements. The Board also approved the district's 2026–2027 operating budget.
Other New Business & Board Approvals
The Board approved change orders totaling $525,000 for PROP KIDS projects, including the JBMS Library and Life Skills classroom remodel, along with several additional facility improvement projects.
The Board was informed that no bids were received for the district's surplus curriculum materials.

Employee Manual
Updated District Policy Manual
Athletic & Activities Handbook
Additionally, the Board approved updated employment contracts to be used beginning with the 2027–2028 school year.
Superintendent Gemes also presented the annual Missouri Highway Patrol bus inspection report.
Personnel Updates
During closed session, the Board approved five new hires for the 2026–2027 school year.
