The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met March 17, 2026 for its regular monthly meeting.
The meeting began with student, staff, and community recognitions. The recipients included Lane Howell, Warsaw South Elementary – Student Spotlight; Jodi Karr – Classified Staff Member of the Month; Andrew Bradshaw – Certified Staff Member of the Month; and Warsaw Lions Club – Wildcat Pride Award recipient.
Program Spotlights
The Board heard a presentation on the district’s 6–12 Math program, highlighting the use of IXL to support student learning and skill development in mathematics.
Budget & Financial Updates
Superintendent Scott Gemes reviewed the February budget report and year-to-date financials with the Board.
The PROP KIDS projects update was also presented, including potential additional facility improvements and a review of the current budget. The district currently has approximately $2.7 million in bond funds allocated for facility projects.

Other New Business & Board Approvals
The Board approved an updated classified salary schedule, which includes the addition of a Library Aide column, along with Summer School salaries.
The Board approved the playground site work bid for both South and North Elementary, which also includes parking lot pavement at South Elementary. Do-Rite Construction was awarded the project with a total bid of $1,000,000.
The Board declared the South Elementary diesel tank as surplus with bidding information to be shared soon, approved bus bids, and will recycle surplus technology equipment after receiving no bids.
Personnel Updates
During closed session, the Board accepted six resignations and approved several new hires. Additionally, eleven tenure contracts and a list of extended day contracts for the 2026-2027 school year were approved.
