WARSAW R-IX GOOD NEWS

GOOD NEWS

GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN WARSAW!

On November 8, 2021 the staff of the Warsaw School District came together for a professional development day.  The theme of the day was What is Your Why?  The staff worked together to discover or rediscover their WHY.  Why they chose to teach, why they love what they do, why they dedicate their life to teaching.

WARSAW CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS
2021 State XC Championships, Columbia, MO (Gans Creek)

State XC Championship Results:
Alyssa Alcantara (Senior) - 21:19.00 (60th out of 170 runners)
Alyssa has been a State Qualifier for 4 straight years and has an All State Championship under her belt.  It has been one fun ride to be a part of her High School XC Running career.  She has fought injuries and pain and still managed to wrap up a strong XC career. Where have these 5 years of being Alyssa's coach gone.  It feels like just yesterday I started working with her as an 8th grader.  I will definitely cherish all the memories. She will be greatly missed but I know that she will move on and do amazing things with her future.

George Montez (Junior) - 18:14.70 (88th out of 170 runners)
Congratulations to George on a strong run at State.  George ran his 2nd fastest time in his 3 years of running high school XC.

George enjoys the atmosphere and likes to soak up the fun at the State XC Championships.  He enjoys making friends with his competitors and is happy to be a part of such an event. I look forward to George's senior year.  He has made a goal to push himself and prepare himself for this final year of XC as a senior next year and can not wait to be a part of it.

BAND NEWS: This last Saturday, October 23, 2021, the Wildcat Band wrapped up its competition season.  They received 3rd place in their class at the Champion of Champions Festival Saturday with season high music score of 77.3 and season high auxiliary (color guard) score of 55.3.

If you see any band members give them a congratulations!  A higher music score of 65 was our goal this week and they eclipsed that and outscored our music marks from last year!  They have grown so much this year and I'm proud of them.

Please congratulate Logan Schockmann for making All State Choir!  He is one of the top four basses in the west central district.  This is the highest honor for a choral student in the state of Missouri.
